Description
I was given kind permission by Saran to use her photos as a reference for this painting. I tried to capture in paint the colours and serenity of her photos, my prints and online depictions are each slightly different.
About
Heybridge Basin is a village and civil parish about a mile from Maldon, in the county of Essex, England. Heybridge Basin is where the Chelmer and Blackwater Navigation Canal merges into the tidal Blackwater Estuary, fed by the rivers Blackwater and Chelmer. The two rivers are joined by a lock which is regularly used by pleasure boats. The Basin was constructed in 1796 and was designated a conservation area in January 1975.
